Continuing the practice of traveling on the weekends, I spent my fourth weekend in Austria. Due to train schedules, I actually stayed in Ulm for Friday night. Friday was the first day of the Neu-Ulmer Volksfest, and Eric, Jason, Allyn, and I visited it. It basically seemed like the midway of a typical county fair with clothing stands near the entrances and a large bierhaus on one side. Admission was free. After walking through through it once, the four of us settled down at a picnic table in front of the bierhaus and played cards and watched people go by. At 22:15, they had a feuerwerk display.
